For three months (Mid March – Early June, 2019), DSF Media worked behind the scenes on the digital roll-out of “The GreyVolution” campaign from the retail store, Grey Velvet Stores.
It involved the use of social media influencers (L-R above): Afua Osei, founder of She Leads Africa, a company committed to empowering and creating opportunities for African women. Valerie Ike, a captivating TV host known for her positive energy and megawatt smile. A regular face on Spice TV, Valerie represents for the curvy girls. Samantha Walsh, a VJ and event host, is the life and soul of any room. Her enigmatic personality is one of the reasons why she is one of the most sought-after people in the entertainment industry. Soliat Bada, chef extraordinaire – Her food venture ‘Byrd’ has injected new life into Nigeria’s food industry.
There were three lifestyle themed shoots with influencers during the course of the campaign. The first being the pre-launch shoot to announce that a ‘change’ was coming – purely in terms of the content we were about to put out for that period and beyond. We really wanted to enforce that the store was poised to dress a new generation of fearless, confident and empowered women and we wanted our digital content to reflect and attract that market.
The running theme on social was to demonstrate that Grey Velvet catered to every woman & not only that – you really do get ‘bang for your buck’ shopping items from their store since they are so versatile (i.e. can be taken from day to night & worn as separates).
It’s important for your marketing agency [us] to tell the right story for your brand – from imagery to copywriting, everything needs to appeal to your target audience so they not only buy what exactly you’re selling but can relate to it as well.

The GreyVolution continued at the Easter Party Shoot. This one was all about the bright colours, florals, shimmer and statement designs. The iconic Shaffy Bello stood in as one of our influencers. This was probably one of our more hectic shoot days but we were able to pull it together. I’dHectic because of the choice in location. Ttip when trying to do a fashion shoot is to take into consideration the number of clothes you’re photographing, the number of models and potential

We wrapped up our campaign with another lifestyle shoot with our influencers – this time our focus was on occasion wear . We switched out photographers this time for the amazing Seye Kehinde. He really helped bring the final vision to life. This takes us to the most important piece of information we’d like to share about carrying out any campaign – you really do get what you pay for. Don’t make compromises.
